#221 / The Two Bridge Election

Karl Rove, pictured at the bottom of this blog posting, is not considered a "liberal," or a "progressive," by any means, but he is not exactly a big fan of Donald J. Trump, either. Here is how Rove characterizes the upcoming presidential race between Trump and Kamala Harris: "Ms. Harris is portraying herself as a bridge to the future and Mr. Trump as a bridge to the past."

While Rove's statement is reporting what Harris is claiming, not what Rove is claiming, I note that he does not disagree. The headline on his July 25, 2024, column in The Wall Street Journal, from which I took the quote, reads as follows: "Harris Saves Democrats From Certain Defeat."

Rove thinks it's a toss-up, pretty much, and if you think Harris is right in her characterization, and that she is a "bridge to the future," you might want to give the future your vote. That is certainly my personal advice. There are some really daunting problems ahead, but.... wow! Such a lot of opportunities, too!
