An article published on the as website
on January 19, 2022, was sent to me by a friend. My friend thought the
article exemplified the kind of "gloom and doom" that I so often seem to
write about. Today's blog posting, linking the as article, is certainly consistent with my gloom and doom reputation. I am talking about an as article titled, "Earth's sixth mass extinction has begun according to scientists."
The polar bear picture was captured from the article, and more specifically from a Greenpeace bulletin that was cited in the article. I definitely don't think it's good news that up to one in ten of Earth's known species may already have gone extinct in the past 500 years - which is what Greenpeace says in its bulletin.
According to Greenpeace, it's time to start "waving goodbye" to the polar bear. While you're at it (unless you are willing to make some pretty fundamental changes) use the device pictured below, which is found, probably, in your own home, to wave goodbye to yourself.
We're all in this together. That includes the polar bears, and that includes both you and me:
