I have been writing daily blog postings for ten years. Every once in a while, people have commented on my postings, which has always made me happy. In the last several months, however, I have received LOTS of comments on my blog postings - on virtually EVERY blog posting, as a matter of fact, and these comments have not been related in any way to what I have said. This turns out to be a lot less fun for me.
As an example of what I am talking about, my blog posting on Maya Angelou, and her wonderful poem, "A Brave And Startling Truth," received something like thirty comments. Here is a very small sample of the comments received, but all the comments were more or less along these lines:

I was finding that virtually every one of my blog postings was drawing comments like those just shown, with the comments often being absolute duplicates, besides being irrelevant to what I said in my blog posting.
Why me, I wondered? What makes those those trying to sell "hacking" services, or bitcoin, or all of the other items and services that have been advertised on my blog think that my blog is a good place to try this out? Truly, I have no clue!
My first reaction was to hope that this would all just disappear, since it was pretty recent, but it didn't, and it apparently was not going to. So, I had to do something, and I figured out how to disable the comment option.
Now, you have to be a "member" of the blog to be able to comment. I assume this means that you have to be a "subscriber," which anyone can easily become. Just put in your email address where it says, "Follow By Email," at the top left hand side of the page. Alternatively, if anyone ever wants to comment, please don't hesitate to send me an email! My email address is listed in the panel on the left hand side of the blog.
As for "New World Hackers," "Wise Tech Hackers," and any similar or related denizens of the Internet, please be advised that new rules now apply: NO COMMENT!
