The June 28, 2012 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle carried a couple of stories on "biohacking," which essentially means treating one's body as an external artifact, collecting data on its biological functioning on a real time basis, and then manipulating one's diet and activities to transform one's physical body to achieve that "ripped" presentation to which we all aspire (don't we?), and to improve brain power, endurance, and all other good things.
Click here, or on the image, to read the main story. Click here for a report on how you can get to "ripped," using the techniques of "quantified health."
It is fascinating, to me, to see the scope and reach of our human ambition to make the entirety of our existence into something that we personally design, develop, and create. Just not to forget that we do not, in any ultimate sense, actually create ourselves!
