Answering the seminal question, "Who am I, and what am I doing here?," can be assisted by reading the biographies of inspiring people. The Story of My Experiments With Truth, by Mohandas Gandhi, is one book I'd recommend.
The Nation Magazine just published an article entitled, "The Fifty Most Influential Progressives of the Twentieth Century." What a great list! I now have a guidebook to more biographies I've got to read.
