A series of decisions to just say "no" to developments proposed on the Santa Cruz County North Coast have helped preserve and protect the environment of this very special place.
Similarly, in Monterey County, the Board of Supervisors was approached with a proposal to develop the Marks Ranch, located on Highway 68, adjacent to the County's Toro Park, close to the City of Salinas.
The black and white picture shows the Marks Ranch, with an inset of the adjacent development at Pasadera. The Pasadera developers wanted to work their magic on Marks Ranch, too. Thanks to LandWatch Monterey County, "no" and "no thanks" was the ultimate response.
If you are a Monterey County resident who cares about preserving and protecting the environmental and agricultural resources of the county, you probably should be a contributing member of LandWatch Monterey County!
