75 / Just Say "No" #2

Our human ability to create (to produce and to consume) is plenary. We are not, compelled, however, to exercise our creative powers, and as we determine what sort of world to create, one possibility is simply to refrain from taking action.

This approach, if more frequently utilized, would result in a world with a lot less "stuff."

This is also the approach, in the land use context, that has resulted in the preservation and protection of the Santa Cruz County North Coast. There have been lots of suggestions, over the years, on how to "develop" the North Coast. Luckily (I think) we have by and large just said, "no."
